MEPs commemorate victims of 22 March Brussels attack and stress need to step up security
MEPs examined progress made in fighting terrorism since the 22 March 2016 attacks in Brussels in Wednesday afternoon’s “topical debate”. They stressed the need to do more to ensure swift and efficient information sharing among member states and improve the interoperability of EU databases, as well as to prevent radicalization and help victims of terrorism.

Waste: boost recycling, cut landfilling and curb food waste, Parliament says
The share of waste to be recycled would rise to 70% by 2030, from 44% today, under draft legislation adopted on Tuesday. MEPs also want the “waste package” plans to limit the share of landfilling, which has a big environmental impact, to 5% and to deliver a 50% reduction in food waste by 2030. Parliament will now negotiate with Council of Ministers.
